Reports and documentaries

We are the
We are a new generation of journalists and producers. We love horizontal storytelling, often beyond one season, because we love binge-watching. Our series and documentaries are rebellious in their visual language, provocative where necessary, honest, and treat their protagonists with great sensitivity and care.
We show truths, settings, feelings and a lot of real people. We capture the decisive moments. Without a narrator - just the sequence. Our imagery is lots of close-ups, high aesthetic and unusual angles. After all, real life is also in 3D.
About
We are ARD (public German TV) natives. This is where we learned our craft and have been making films since 2014. That's why we defend one thing above all, journalism’s foremost principle: The truth. The real life.
It's important to know what's happening. But it's even more important to know: How do people feel about it? What does change feel like, what does it do to the people who are affected by it? Breaking taboos, taking fears seriously, capturing hope and sharing courage - preferably in 30 minutes or more.
We like to analyze take a deep dive on how and where we publish our stories. Because at the end of the day, we want to reach everyone. We like to do things differently, in a new way. Maybe we also make them more feminine. Because if there's one thing we no longer want to see, it's conformist films with lots of voice-overs and little real emotion.
In the end, we are punks after all. Picture Punks!
More about Nele

I love crazy German pop songs and wanted to have a hairstyle like Thomas Gottschalk when I was 13. That sure came across weird when I was studying philosophy in Berlin. But not when I learned at SWR. It was actually perfect when I dressed up as a pineapple in the Tagesschau live show for Fassenacht.
I worked for several years at ARD-aktuell (who makes news-reports for national German TV), in the research unit at SWR, at ARD-Faktenfinder in Hamburg, then as a reporter and planner at ARD-Mittagsmagazin.

I was already terribly curious as a child already. You can then either become a spy or a journalist. I chose the latter. Sitting in an office just isn't my thing. I love going out and meeting strangers.
Being a journalist is my dream. Where else can you ask anything without getting a slap on the wrist? I learned how to ask the right questions at SWR. First at my traineeship and then for five years at Zur Sache Rheinland-Pfalz, a political magazine, and at Report Mainz.
My second great love is creative experimentation. Just taking a chance. At some point at SWR, they said: Then go for it. The result was two new formats. My two loves have often met up to do reports for SWR. For 45 minutes. Great pictures, great people, and crazy stories. That's as good as it gets. For me at least.
